This book
This is a biography of John Cleveland Steele. It is meant to be read as a book, and kept as one that can still be written.
He was born in 1953. The ribbon above follows the ordinary order of a life: childhood, high school, university, marriage, family, and retirement. The years on that ribbon are still being set right. The man is not.
You may read from the beginning, or open the index and follow a single thread — a project he undertook, a craft he knew, a chapter of years, a person who stood with him, a place he lived. What is gathered here will grow as he tells it, and as others who knew him send a page.
A story sent from outside is held until it belongs. The voice of the book is kept consistent, so that it reads as one life, not a pile of letters.
